Axum Font Prototype

Explorations of medieval texts beyond the Latin manuscript tradition led me to the Ethiopian Ge'ez language and the Armenian alphabet, both of which are very high contrast and bristle with hooks and serifs in unexpected places. Axum is inspired by these lesser known letterforms from the edges of the typographic West.
